Chest Mount Review: The Cotton Carrier

The Cotton CarrierChest Mounts in paramotor photography are a must. Consequently, the photography on this site is about to get a lot better. Up until now I’ve relied on the imagery from a GoPro Hero II helmet camera which in its own right is a tremendous asset to my video needs in PPG. But I needed a way to get stunning aerial imagery, of the Canon L-Series Lens kind. Recently, I discovered a chest harness for a large DSLR. It’s called The Cotton Carrier and it will allow me to carry one big DSLR and an assortment of lens choices, making for endless opportunities PPG imagery wise. This particular setup is available online and I’m buying mine at B&H Photo. It appears plenty sturdy enough to sustain the weight of the camera and lens throughout the rigors of ground ops and even includes a leash for times when the camera is off of the rig’s chest mount. I’ll report back here in a future post on how I like this setup once I’ve had a chance to really test it out. UPDATE: I’ve tested the Cotton Carrier in flight and I love it.
